What is a Milk Bank?
Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast safely collects, pasteurizes, and distributes donated human milk from screened mothers to the babies who need it most. Much like a blood bank provides lifesaving blood, we provide lifesaving nutrition to the most vulnerable infants.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast is dedicated to ensuring that safe, pasteurized donor human milk is available to premature and medically fragile babies when their mother’s own milk is limited or unavailable.
What began as a statewide effort in Tennessee has grown into a vital resource for families and hospitals across multiple states.

Regional Impact
With a growing network of Milk Drop Depots across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia, Mothers' Milk Bank Southeast is making it easier for mothers to donate their extra breast milk and helping build a stronger, more connected donor milk network throughout the region.
Our Milk Drop Depots serve as convenient collection points where approved donors can safely drop off their frozen breast milk. Each depot plays an important role in connecting generous milk donors with vulnerable infants in hospitals and communities throughout the Southeast.
